A ribbon cutting ceremony was held recently for another section of the Route 1 Widening project designed to improve traffic congestion and accessibility for business owners and the local community. The project being constructed by the Shirley Contracting Company, LLC project team and Dewberry as the design team.

The project scope included a newly completed section between Featherstone and Marys Way widened Route 1 from a four-lane undivided highway to a six-lane divided highway with a five-foot-wide sidewalk along the road.
