Distinctive features of the project include widening the existing four-lane roadway to six lanes, provisions for future expansion to eight lanes, additional lanes on side streets to enhance intersections, upgraded traffic signals, improvements in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, installation of Stormwater management facilities, and noise barrier walls at select locations to enhance the quality of life for nearby communities.

This multimodal project, includes innovative transportation solutions that enhance travel accessibility and reliability for all commuters traveling to major commercial and employment centers, including Dulles Airport, and businesses in the Reston, Herndon, Dulles Corridors, and Tysons.
